 The Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act (FFATA) is a law passed in 2006 and amended in 2008. The intent of the law is to increase the availability of public information related to federal spending.

Reporting Requirements

FFATA applies to new federal contracts or grants issued on or after Oct. 1, 2010. The law initially required prime awardees to report information on subcontracts or subawards greater than or equal to $25,000. In November 2020, updates to 2 CFR part 170 increased the reporting threshold from $25,000 to $30,000.  Reports are submitted through a centralized website,  (external link). The submitted data is then displayed on  (external link). The law also requires that the compensation of the top five executives within an organization to be reported as well, if certain criteria apply.
91Èȱ¬ is the awardee for most federal awards that you may receive from 91Èȱ¬. As the awardee, 91Èȱ¬ reports information on federal subawards issued to your organization.

LEA Responsibilities

Your organization can assist our reporting process by maintaining an active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM, at ). Data elements in the FFATA report are pre-populated with information contained in SAM. Review your SAM registration often to ensure your data accurately reflect any changes that may occur in your organization. Specifically, please ensure that the nine-digit ZIP code for the physical address is accurate. The ZIP code for your physical address determines your organization’s congressional district. The congressional district is a required data element for FFATA reporting.

If your organization receives funds directly from a federal agency, your organization will be the prime awardee. As the prime awardee, you will be responsible for initiating your own processes to ensure compliance with FFATA reporting.
